Eric Freedman was born and raised in Toronto. He has an Honours Degree in political science from the University of Western Ontario. Eric also received his Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of Western Ontario.
After graduation, Eric articled at a boutique firm specializing in litigation. Since his Call to the Bar, Eric has worked exclusively in litigation and in small firm environments representing individuals and small corporations and developing a specialized expertise in litigation.
Eric prides himself on the personalized service that a small firm environment provides and emphasizes attention to files and client communication in his practice in addition to achieving only the best possible results. Eric is always aware that every file is of utmost importance to the client involved even if it is one of many files in the office.
Eric has practiced in all areas of litigation including personal injury, copyright/trademark, corporate/commercial, labour/employment, property disputes, debtor/creditor, estates, and appeals.
Eric's current practice has an emphasis on Civil Litigation. He also practices Criminal Law and Family/Divorce Law.
Eric has argued at every level of court in Ontario including the Ontario Court of Appeal.
While Eric is a tough-minded advocate in court, he also promotes out-of-court settlement whenever it is in the client’s best interest. Since most cases settle without going to trial, Eric excels at the mediation and settlement process. His knowledge of the law and detailed preparation ensure that the client’s best case is always presented to the other party to maximize settlement value.
